“Crowdfunding – Friend or Foe” – A report

Last Friday, the 26th of February, 2016 saw a motley audience step away from their work, to in attend a Talk and participate in a simulation on Crowdfunding by Prof. John Hoffmire of Oxford University. The event was organised by CRISP Social Ventures and Yes Institute and co hosted by Gallopper and BitGiving. It was held at ISDI in Lower Parel Innovation District, Indiabulls One, in Mumbai. Preeti Sinha from Yes Institute introduced by Prof. Hoffmire.

John 5During the Talk “Crowdfunding – Friend or Foe”, Prof. John Hoffmire spoke about the different types of Crowdfunding options and on the relevance of each punched with with and humour besides relevant graphs, videos and images. The simulation and the Q&A session afterwards saw an active participation from the attendees which included bankers, investors, professors, policy makers, project managers, crowdfunding seekers and crowdfunding consultants, among others.

Overall the Talk and Simulation was a huge success and the attendees left behind excellent feedback. This has deepened our belief that such events are a need of the hour and is, as always, a time of not just playing host at an event but to come back home with another good dose of knowledge and inspiration. Infact for us at Gallopper, the knowledge gained is the real pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
